The Future Home Committee met on August 29, 2017 with Maxwell Construction and Entheos Architects.
Mike Newton reported that the scheduled pledge payment amount is higher than projected. He also stated that we still need about $340,000 in pledges to reach our $2,500,000 goal.
Jeff from Maxwell presented some alternates to the construction project. After much discussion some were approved, some rejected and others modified or put on hold until more information is available.
Kevin from Entheos will make arrangements for a representative from Covenant, the company that will furnish the pews and chairs, to meet with the Design Committee.
During church construction, three members of the Future Home Committee and one member of the parish will work directly with the builder and attend weekly meetings with them and Entheos. They will report back to the committee on any changes.
No new meeting was scheduled.
The Future Home Committee met on July 25, 2017 with Maxwell Construction and Entheos Architects.
Jeff from Maxwell presented the list of companies that had submitted bids for the construction of the church and land improvement. He also presented the contract bids for the project. The submitted bids were very close to the budgeted amounts.
The road work improvements need was submitted to the county and have been approved. All other items that need approval have been submitted to the county and city.
Fr. Jeff will contact the Archbishop about a date for the ground breaking. Our next meeting is scheduled for August 8 to further review contract bids.
The Future Home Committee met on February 11 with Maxwell Construction and Entheos Architects. Kevin from Enthoes reported that the final construction documents for phase one of our construction were submitted to the city in late December. The Plans will be reviewed at the Planning Commission meeting this month. The Plans will then be reviewed at the City Council meeting in March.
The committee reviewed two estimates for the restoration and moving of the stained glass windows to the new church.
Fr. Jeff reported that several of the committee members are going to Pittsburgh to visit a used church items warehouse. After looking at their web site, and seeing several items of interest, the committee thought it would be good to see what is available.
The next committee meeting is scheduled for March 18.
The Future Home Committee met on December 10 with Maxwell Construction and Entheos Architects. The traffic study was submitted to Hamilton County who provided a list of questions back that we responded to. A formal response from Hamilton County is expected in the near-term.
The committee reviewed three estimates received for the moving and restoration of the stained glass windows. The committee asked Entheos to contact two of the companies for verification on exactly what is covered by the estimates and also for references.
The committee looked at several options for the ceiling of the church. A sound absorbing wood finish was selected.
Kevin from Entheos reported that the final construction documents will be submitted to the city before the end of the year.
The Future Home Committee met on November 12 with Maxwell Construction and Entheos Architects.
Fr. Jeff reported that he, Tom Gruber and Mike Newton met with Rich Kelly, Jeff Bohrer and Tom Twilling from the Archdiocese about our plans for the new church.
Toby from Entheos presented to the committee several plans for the entrance to the church. After some discussion the committee selected one with some minor changes.
Kevin from Entheos showed the committee several options for the exterior of the church. The roof color, trim, and exterior finishes were selected. The committee also looked at flooring choices.
The committee will meet on December 10.
The Future Home Committee met on October 29 with Entheos Architects and Maxwell Constructions.
The traffic study has been completed and given to Hamilton County for their approval.
Toby from Entheos presented the designs for the gather spaces based upon discussions at the last meeting. The committee approved the changes. The schedule is that the plans will be presented to the Archdiocese by the end of the year.
Toby asked that the committee review the plans in regards to cabinets, electrical and plumbing in detail and make any changes before the next meeting. A meeting was schedule.
The next meeting is scheduled for November 12.
The Future Home Committee met on Saturday, September 24 with Maxwell Construction and Entheos Architects. Fr. Jeff reported that we had received the sample pews from the two venders and that they were in the Community Room.
Kevin from Entheos presented the overall cost estimates for the project. Jeff from Maxwell presented the breakdown for the cost of building the church. Jeff also gave us pricing options for some of the project. After much discussion the committee asked for more information on some of the cost breakdowns.
The committee would like to thank all those who gave us their preferences on the pews and the comments that were received.
The next meeting is scheduled for October 8.
The Future Home Committee met on September 10 with Entheos and Maxwell Construction. Fr. Jeff reported that our PUD (Our Master Plan) was approved by the City of Harrison at the Council meeting on September 6. The next step is to send the traffic study information to the county for their review. They will then determine what needs to be done about the entrance accessibility.
Jeff from Maxwell reported that he is talking to contractors to get estimates on the cost of the construction.
Toby from Entheos showed several design for the back of the altar. The committee asked for a couple of changes and they will be presented at the next meeting.
The committee is working on a date for a parish meeting to present the design for the interior and exterior the new church.
The next meeting is scheduled for September 24.
The Future Home Committee met with Entheos Architects, Maxwell Construction and Bayer-Becker on August 27. Mark from Bayer-Becker Project Engineer, reported that the traffic study had been completed. The report will be sent to the City of Harrison for review.
Jeff from Maxwell presented plans for the parking lot. The lot will have about 330 spaces.
Toby from Entheos went over the designs for the gathering space, Blessed Sacrament chapel and other areas of the church. The design should be completed shortly and then we will be able to get a cost estimate for the total project.
Kevin from Entheos showed the committee several possible brick colors. The committee selected Endicott Medium Ironspot 77 with a lighter accent brick and limestone trim.
Our next meeting will be on September 10.
The Future Home Committee met with Entheos Architects and Maxwell Construction on August 6. Kevin from Entheos reported that the traffic survey would be done for both the church activity as well as the school activity. The study will begin the week of August 22.
He also presented several plans for the entrance to the church from the gathering space. The committee asked for a couple of changes to the design. Toby from Entheos showed the changes that were requested by the committee at the last meeting for the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. Again, the committee asked for a few more changes.
Jeff from Maxwell presented the preliminary cost for the site work need prior to construction.
The committee looked at samples of brick and limestone for the exterior of the building. Kevin was asked to bring a few larger samples for the next meeting.
The next scheduled meeting is August 27.
